Jubilee Packaging

The best thing about my trip to the supermarket this week has to be Kellogg's limited edition cereal boxes for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. They feature drawings dating back to the 1950s when the Queen ascended the throne, including the first ever Coco the monkey on Coco Pops packs and original Snap, Crackle and Pop characters from Rice Krispies. I just love the simplicity of these vintage pack designs and just wish packaging today looked as good as it did then. Well done Kelloggs, you made me smile!

Belle and Boo

As a child I always loved dress-up paper dolls and think it is a shame that these days sticker book versions seem to have replaced the good old fashioned cut out style. I was so pleased to find this gorgeous version from Belle and Boo. Mandy Sutcliffe's illustrations of Belle and her rabbit, Boo have a lovely vintage feel about them and take me right back to my childhood. You can even download more outfits for free from Belle and Boo's wonderful blog.
Mandy has also created all sorts of wonderful art prints, books, stationery, homewares and even clothes. I particularly like the 'Bubbles before Bed' book which makes a lovely present for little girls who like to make and do.

I also love this 'Royal Party Parade' limited edition print. It would make a lovely reminder of the Queen's jubilee.

I am absolutely loving these cool alphabet screen prints from YeahNoYeah. They are nice and large at 40x50cm and cost only £40. I love the op art feel and think they will make a fantastic statement on the which letters to choose?

Silhouette art

It was Dizzy's birthday last weekend and I finally got round to making the card I have been meaning to do for ages. I have always liked the art of victorian paper cuts and have been meaning to do my own silhouettes of the kids for a while. I am really pleased with this contemporary version of Dax, Arlo and Darcey and think it will look great printed as a large poster. I think I will put it on my list of 'things I want to screen print' in the future. For now it looks pretty good as an inkjet print.

Patchwork tiles

Finally it feels as though things are moving forward with the loft conversion. This week Darcey and I spent  a very enjoyable morning working out the layout of her patchwork bathroom floor tiles. I think they look stunning and she seems pretty pleased with them too.

Draw bag

I LOVE this bag by Sally Nencini over at Sisters Guild. Not very practical considering it is 100% lambswool but gorgeous all the same. I would have loved this bag when I was little. Such a shame that Darcey isn't a few years older as she would probably love it too.
