We have just got back from the beautiful village of Valmorel in the French Alps. It was the first time we have taken the boys skiing and they absolutely loved it. I have been snowboarding in Valmorel for almost 20 years now and can't recommend it highly enough as the perfect family resort. We put both boys in the Piou Piou club (French Ski school for under 6's) and although Arlo was still a little young, both coped really well on their skis and by the end of the week Dax got his 'Ourson' badge. Whilst we weren't especially impressed with the French ski instructors (perhaps they were feeling a bit 'end of season'), we were very impressed with what the boys achieved and will definitely be going back next year.

The other great addition to Valmorel is the brand new Club Med hotel. On a particularly miserable day weather wise, we spent the afternoon there and for 50 euros per person (kids under 5 were free) we had a lovely lunch, swim, sauna, hot tub and unlimited drinks in the vast lounge overlooking the slopes. It was a great way to spend the afternoon and take a break from skiing and the kids loved the crêpes and cakes served up at tea time.
